Scientifica ExpressItem #6014. Astronomical and bank collector item shows terrain features on the face of both sides of the Moon. Only major place names are illustrated. Scale is 1:22,809,60 or 1 inch equals 360 Statute miles. Issued prior to actual Apollo 11 Moon landing in 1969. Globe probably made between c. 1968-1969. In general astronomical globes are not common. Shows 5 proposed equatorial Apollo landing sites.
Item #6012. Shows retrograde lunar motion in relation to the earth. The magic lantern has a mahogany frame, brass gear crank attached to a single circular brass rack work mechanical assembly and, hand painted glass slides. Paper descriptive tags are in most part removed from the unit. The mechanical astronomical slide is similar to those made by Carpenter and Wesley, England. Dimensions are: 6 7/8 inch long, 3 7/8 inch high with a 2 ½ inch diameter viewing area. In overall good working condition.

Item #6000 Unsigned, probably French Pocket microscope with brass telescoping tube, 2 inches high when closed. Contains the calcite cube in the
bottom of the unit. By sliding the eye piece controls the magnification.
Item #6037. Manufactured about 1906 by W. Watson
& Sons, 313 High Street, London, England.
Serial No. 4294. Classic tripod legs, three
objectives; stands 12 ¼ inches high and extends
up to 14 5/8 inches when fully extended by rack
and pinion. Has substage condenser on rack and
pinion; and mirror is on a swinging arm. The
stage viewing platform has two spring clips
for holding glass slides. In good working condition.
Note that left coarse focusing knob has been
broken off. Does not affect focusing by using
right side knob. Some scuffing of brass along
right front side of tube. This is the model
selected by the British Navy for use in the
field and laboratories. Item #6001. Old time giant brass portrait lens,
Series A, f5, 8x10 format for bellows camera. F stop settings are 2, 4, 8, 16, 32,
and 64 with continuous iris stop down. Overall
in good working condition; 7 7/8 inch high with
a front lens opening of 4 7/16 inch in diameter,
and the female treaded end is 3 ¾ inches in
diameter. Made by Wollensak Optical Company,
Rochester, New York. Probably turn of the Century
or earlier. Item #6046. Morse code practice telegraph unit
made by J. H. Bunnell with a Becko Key with
switch and a Mesco sounder mounted on a mahogany
base. This is one of the scarce key on board units
of 1918. Some wood gouging in area of key switch
swing pattern. About 1/8 of the enamel paint
is worn away on the key pad. In working condition. | |||
